Close to Paradise was the second painting in my Paradise Lake series. I wanted to create a place that would reflect a glorious cabin life where a person could truly renew their strength. I wanted it to be a place where you would long to retreat to, rest, and playfully dream. I pressed in over many weeks to bring details that would be worthy of a Joshua Ben King collector. This painting has a hidden owl, squirrel, two hidden deer, and many other details such as the bag of marshmallows. Beloved pets, favorite fishing gear, all invoke happy memories of the perfect paradise sunset.
